Celebrating 30 years of TMAP

At Sogeti our passion for testing is an ongoing love story that started several decades ago. One concrete result of that love is TMAP. Did you know that it was originally developed by Sogeti? TMAP started out as the Test Management Approach. Over the years it has evolved into a comprehensive body of knowledge for quality engineering and testing, used globally by IT professionals.

It is now 30 years ago since we started to share our knowledge worldwide with the book “Testing according to TMAP”. Since then, about 20 additional TMAP books have been published, and a very practical body of knowledge is also collected online at www.TMAP.net

Nowadays there are TMAP certified people across 4 continents! Another important impact of TMAP is that people in many different countries use TMAP resources such as the freely downloadable templates, for example the TPI tool (Test Process Improvement). TMAP has also always been an important source of knowledge about test design techniques that TMAP has categorized into 4 useful groups, next to the experience-based approaches. In addition, TMAP has inspired many others across the globe for instance the ISTQB curriculum. Today the TMAP certification is complementary to the ISTQB certification.

In this breakfast seminar, Rik Marselis would like to celebrate the 30th anniversary of TMAP with you by giving a brief overview of the history of TMAP and he will elaborate on the impact that TMAP had on the world of Quality Engineering and Testing, and even on the Information Technology world in general.

But this celebration would not be complete without an outlook into the future… What will Gen AI bring to the world of Quality Engineering & Testing? Rik will share his insights and predictions. During this breakfast seminar you will also be able to try out how TMAP works in practice when quickly setting up a quality engineering strategy.
